Like we said back in August of 2017, we would be a "repeat camper" and almost a year later we are back to one of our favorite campgrounds, Fries New River Trail RV Park in Fries, Virginia.
This time our stay was over the July 4th holiday. The small town of Fries has a July 4th parade at noon. The parade consisted of fire trucks, ladder trucks, ambulances from Fries and surrounding towns, as well as antique cars, tractors, ATV's, horses, & more, it was much bigger than we thought it would be.
All the little kids sit on the curb down the parade route and the various vehicles toss candy to them, so cute.
Shortly after the parade, around 2pm, the campground held a cook-out on July 4th and each camper brought a side dish to share. At 10pm the town of Fries put on a fireworks show and I have to say it put my home town to shame - great job Fries!
Meet "Teddy Bear", our 5lb. Yorkie. Can you tell that he is not thrilled with his July 4th outfit?
